Mr. Robert L. “Bob” Bumbaugh, 67, of 414 Cedar St,. Mont Alto, PA died at 6:28 A.M. Thursday, May 6, 2004 in Waynesboro Hospital. He had been in failing health since November 2002 and critically ill for the past 1 ½ weeks. Born December 24, 1936 in Mont Alto, PA, he was the son of the late Samuel, Sr. and Goldie (Baker) Bumbaugh. He lived most of his life in Mont Alto. He and his wife, Mrs. Nancy L.(Murray) Bumbaugh, were married September 26, 1986 in Waynesboro Church of the Brethren. They had lived at their current residence since 1988. Mr. Bumbaugh was employed for a number of years with Koontz Dairy as a milk delivery person. At the same time, he was also a bus driver in the Chambersburg and Waynesboro School Districts. He was a security officer for a number of years at Penn State, Mont Alto Campus, and prior to his retirement in 2000, he worked first as a bartender and later as the manager of the Eagles Club, Inc., Waynesboro. Following retirement, he worked part time as a security officer with Frick Company, Waynesboro. He was a member and past president of the Eagles Club, Inc., and a member of the Order of Owls Nest #1073, both of Waynesboro. He was a life member of the Mont Alto Volunteer Fire Company. He was an avid golfer. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Cindy Destefan, Rouzerville and Lisa Neady, Waynesboro; two sons, Robert A. Bumbaugh, Waynesboro and Michael Bumbaugh, Mont Alto; two step-daughters, Jyl Layton, Chambersburg and Jacqueline “Nicki” Hoch, Shippensburg; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one brother, Samuel “Sam” Bumbaugh, Jr., Mont Alto; and a number of nieces and nephews.
