Mr. Gary E. Eigenbrode, 78, of 5985 Greenbriar Terrace, Fayetteville, PA, died Wednesday, September 17, 2014 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born August 16, 1936 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Edwin M. and Mary A. (Embly) Eigenbrode. He lived his early life in the Waynesboro area. Mr. Eigenbrode graduated from Washington Township High School with the class of 1954. He and his wife of over 57 years, Sara Jane (Gsell) Eigenbrode, were married on January 11, 1957 in the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro. Mr. Eigenbrode worked at Teledyne Landis Machine Company, Waynesboro for over 37 years. He retired in 1996. He was a member of the Mont Alto United Methodist Church, Mont Alto, PA and was a life member of the Mont Alto Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Diane L. Swope and her husband, Steven of Waynesboro, Dan E. Eigenbrode and his wife, Trish of Ellington, CT, and Donna K. Forney and her husband, Darryll of Greencastle, PA; six grandchildren, Laurel (Swope) Brush, Dane Swope, Christian Eigenbrode, Brandon Eigenbrode, Hunter Forney, and Blake Forney; two great-grandchildren, Kaylee Monn and Alexis Swope; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, G. Thomas Eigenbrode who died in 1983.
