Mr. Richard K. Sleicher, 58, 19 Oak Ave., Mont Alto, PA, died at 11:36 P.M., Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born March 27, 1954 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Richard H. and Dolores (Shockey) Sleicher. He lived most of his life in the Mont Alto area. Rich graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the class of 1972. He later graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Police Administration. He and his wife of over 37 years, Leslie (Luckenbach) Sleicher, were married on August 23, 1975 in the Otterbein Church in Mont Alto. Rich worked for United Telephone and Sprint as an equipment installer, installation team leader, installation supervisor, and project manager. He was a life member of the Mont Alto Volunteer Fire Company No.1, where he held the office of president, vice-president, secretary, trustee, and various committee chairmanships. He was also a carnival chairman and assistant chairman for over 36 years. He was also a member of the South Mountain Volunteer Fire Company and Eagles Club, Inc., Waynesboro. Rich enjoyed trains and was an avid train collector.
