~ Mont Alto Boro Residents: Water Conservation Mandate ~
As a result of the low water flows, created by the ongoing lack of rainfall, the Mont Alto Municipal Authority is implementing mandatory water conservation measures for all customers serviced by the Mont Alto water system.
The following water uses are considered nonessential and are prohibited during this time.
• Washing vehicles and homes.
• Filling and topping off swimming pools.
• Washing paved surfaces, such as sidewalks, streets, driveways, garages, patios, and parking areas.
• Operating water foutains, water sprinklers, artificial waterfalls and reflecting pools.
• The use of hoses, sprinklers or other means for sprinkling or watering of shrubbery, trees, lawns, gardens, landscaped areas, and outside plants.
• The use of fire hydrants by fire company for testing apparatus and fire department drills except as necessary for fire fighting or protection purposes.
• The use of fire hydrants by municipal road departments, contractors and all others except for protection purposes.

~ Burn Ban ~
March 4, 2025 – An open BURN BAN has been declared for the Borough of Mont Alto
Due to extreme dry conditions, and lack of rain fall, The Mont Alto Borough Council has approved a burn ban for the Borough of Mont Alto. The ban is effective immediately and will stay in place until further notice.
A burn ban means that Mont Alto Borough Residents WILL NOT be able to have any open fires of any types, including yard waste, bonfires, campfires, trash burning, fire pits etc. Mont Alto Fire Department as well as Franklin County Emergency Services have been notified of Borough Council’s decision to place the ban in effect due to the extreme conditions.
The Borough Council is taking every precaution to keep our community safe from the hazards of fires due to the lack of rainfall and we will notify residents when the burn ban has been lifted.
The Mont Alto Fire Company is located in Mont Alto, Pennsylvania. Operated as an all volunteer department, the company protects about 70 square miles and answers around 300 fire related calls per year. Mont Alto Fire Company currently has 2 Engines, 1 Tanker, 1 Brush Truck, 1 Utility Truck and 1 UTV.
